What We Are Catching In Murrells Inlet May 2024

Greetings, fellow anglers!

May has been an exciting month for inshore and nearshore fishing here at Murrells Inlet, and we at Fish Finder Fishing Charters are thrilled to share the latest updates with you.

The warmer waters have brought a noticeable increase in activity, and we’re seeing some fantastic catches. One of the most exciting developments is the arrival of menhaden along the beach. These baitfish are starting to show up in significant numbers, and with them come the predators. The King mackerel, typically found offshore, are being lured closer to the beach, creating fantastic opportunities for nearshore anglers. These kings are putting up a great fight and are a thrilling addition to our charters.

Inshore, the Spanish mackerel are plentiful. These aggressive feeders are providing non-stop action and are a favorite for both seasoned anglers and beginners alike. Their abundance means everyone has a chance to reel in these speedy fish, and their acrobatic leaps add an extra layer of excitement to every trip.

Our recent charters have also seen good catches of red drum and flounder, making for a well-rounded fishing experience. The creeks and flats are alive with activity, and there’s always a chance to hook into something special.

Whether you’re targeting the kings nearshore or enjoying the non-stop action of Spanish mackerel inshore, May is proving to be a fantastic month for fishing at Murrells Inlet. Join us at Fish Finder Fishing Charters for an unforgettable adventure on the water.

Tight lines, The Fish Finder Fishing Charters Team
