Flounder Fishing in Murrells Inlet: Back to Back

June is one of the best months of the year to target flounder in Murrells Inlet. The bait is up, the fish are feeding, and if you put yourself in the right spot, the action can be fast.ย ย Carolina Sportsman

Real fast. Here is a quick recap direct from the captain who made it happen for his client on a recent Fish Finder Fishing trip:

“Two of those flounder came off back to back casts.  23 inches and 22 inches. The other one was 18. Double rig, jig head on the bottom, hook above. Mud minnows. They were chewing and didn’t need that long to eat it.”

That’s three keeper flounder in minutes. That’s what a good day with Fish Finder looks like.

Flounder hang around jetties, oyster bars, creek mouths and structure that creates current breaks where they can ambush bait. They’re not a hard fish to fight, but they’re one of the best eating fish you’ll put in a cooler. Light, clean, and delicious any way you cook it.

Peak action runs May through September, which means the window is wide open right now. If you want some more info on the how-to side of it, you can check out this link: Fishfinderfishing

Fish Finder Charters runs trips out of Murrells Inlet. If flounder is on the list, this is the season to go.
