August 2025 Fishing Report – Murrells Inlet, SC

August 2025 Fishing Report

August on the Hammock Coast is like a buffet for anglers—you never quite know what’s going to hit next, but you know it’s going to be good.

Some days we’re chasing big redfish along the jetties. Other days, we’re winding through calm, scenic marsh creeks where the flounder are stacked up and waiting to ambush a bait.

Either way, the rods haven’t stayed still for long this month!

The Shark Bite

Sharks have been stealing the show—blacktips, Atlantic sharpnose, even the occasional sandbar shark bending rods and making drags scream.

It’s been non-stop action for folks who love a good fight.

Redfish Action

redfish

Redfish have been feeding hard along the rocks, cruis

ing the grass edges, and showing up in the marsh on high water.

They’ve been hitting just about everything we throw at them, and when they decide to eat, it’s game on. The pull from a redfish in shallow water is pure lowcountry magic.

BIG Flounder

Flounder have been feeding heavy inshore, with some real slabs coming over the rail. Speckled trout have been making surprise appearances, especially on those early morning runs, and spadefish have been flashing silver under the surface on the nearshore reefs.

You Never Know What’s Going to Bite Next

It’s the kind of fishing where every trip feels like a mixed bag—sharks one minute, trout the next, and a big redfish to close out the day.

The weather’s been warm, the water’s been alive, and every sunrise has been a reminder why we love fishing this time of year.

Time to Book Your Trip!

We’re rolling into late summer now, and that means the bite is still on, but the crowds will start thinning as school gets back in session.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to book, now’s the sweet spot—August and September are prime months to get in on the action before the fall run kicks in.

Call or text today, grab your spot on the boat, and let’s make some memories on the Hammock Coast.
