More Than a Boat Ride: What Itโ€™s Like Fishing With a Captain Who Actually Teaches You

Three friends smiling on a fall fishing charter in Murrells Inlet near Myrtle Beach

Ever stepped onto a boat and felt like everyone knew something you didnโ€™t?

Weโ€™ve all been there. Thatโ€™s exactly why we fish the way we do. Nobody on our boats gets left guessing. Whether itโ€™s your first fishing charter near Myrtle Beach or your fiftieth, we teach you as we go. Youโ€™ll leave knowing more than when you showed up.

Weโ€™ll Always Be Straight With You

Not long ago, we had three guys on board on a windy October morning. The ocean was rolling with 3 to 5 foot swells. Could we have pushed out there anyway? Sure. Would it have been fun? Not a chance.

So we told them straight and ducked into the calm water of the Intracoastal instead. No sugarcoating, just an honest call and a better plan.

Ask Us Anything (Seriously)

How does the boat work? Why are we fishing here? Whatโ€™s this rig for? Keep the questions coming. We love talking fishing, and weโ€™ll walk you through the gear, the conditions and what the fish are doing that day.

Flounder are a perfect example. They bite soft, more of a tap than a tug. When you feel it, give it a second before you set the hook. The guys caught several that morning, plus a bluefish. All were too small to keep, but every bite got them a little better.

Then the Jetty Delivered

Near the end of the trip, we anchored off the tip of the Murrells Inlet jetty and dropped down some cut bait. Almost right away, a rod doubled over.

That redfish dragged our angler from the side of the boat to the stern and back again. When we finally got it in, it measured 27 inches. A few photos, a lot of smiles, and back it went to make more redfish. Talk about a finish.
